Today is the last full day in Bergen. The morning started with suitcases being packed and a nice breakfast from the hostel. After that it is time to checkout and gather for departure to our new hotel. As the initial flight was cancelled and the new flight is a day later, we needed an additional overnight stay. Yesterday and today we will said our goodbyes to a few of our group members that have after travel plans. The group that is going to the hotel consists of 13 people.
After a word from the day commissioners, the group is split up in two sub groups, as we are travelling by bus with quite some luggage. Because of the entire group being very much on time, the first group could even leave with a bus earlier than planned. Soon after the second group followed.
At Grand Hotel Terminus there were luckily two rooms that were already finished for us. Therefore, some did not have to wait until 15.00 to check-in and we had a space to leave all our luggage. After dropping off the luggage, the last day of exploring Bergen began.
There was a group that decided to concur yet another mountain: Mount Fløyen!
Afterwards, a part decided to go on a sauna boat, to see Bergen by boat while relaxing.
Another part of the group decided to continue the hiking, got semi-lost and extended the hike by 4 hours with beautiful views.
Meanwhile, down in Bergen, a permanent mark of this study-trip was tattooed behind Philippe’s ear. In addition, more of Bergen’s city centre was explored by going up the Rosenkrantz tower.
More relaxing happened for the rest of the afternoon, with the options of baths in the hotel or just going to a comic book store for some nice reading material.
After everyone used their afternoon well, a last and final dinner together was held (although missing some members). The appetizers, main dishes, desserts and drinks were bitter sweet. Cheers to a very successful study trip!
Tomorrow will be yet another travel day, this time going home!
